TELAFONICA

i've reuploaded all the mixes for the album to archive.org. i'll e-mail the address to everyone. have a download/listen and make sure everything is ok. i've brought the vocals down where appropriate etc and generally cleared up most of any muddiness. i'm pretty happy with them. we need a track listing so i'm happy to hear suggestions. and, if you think the music is done david, the artwork. i'm still not certain of the format, inspite of all our previous discussions we never settled on anything and i'm not really sure what i think we should have. i don't want to have anything too labour intensive, but i do want an element of the hand-made. i still like the zine idea and am happy to print everything up - b/w on coloured and white paper possibly - and collate/staple etc. what do you think at the moment?

i got a copy of this is the new thing that we did on departure lounge from trevor - i'm trying to work out where i can post it (hopefully on here somewhere). doesn't sound too bad at all (though the male singer is too loud!). i have pretty much got a close to final mix of everything for the new album. having listened back to them over the weekend, there's still a few things i'd like to fine tune, but it's pretty close. i'll post them all up on archive.org in the next couple of days. cell and david, can you listen through with a fine tooth comb. and we still need to work out a track order. i've played around with sitting blending the edges right up as the second track, and it seems to work ok. it gives it a lot more energy. my only reservation might be that it a bit much having an 8 minute, mostly instrumental minimalist track starting the album, but i think it might work. if this is the new thing comes right after it (with the rain sounds as well) i...

i've planned wednesday afternoon to go to ant's studio and do some mixing. hopefully we can finalise decidions by then? i'm going at 3pm - 6am london time ;). we have another date for another gig. i'm excited about this one because it's in a new warehouse venue which is really the type of venue i'd most like to play. it's called dirty shirlows and it's in marrickville. we're playing on saturday, june 14. not 100% on the other acts yet, but we get to organise them, so they'll be good. there's a chance a guy from brisbane who may be coming down calle aheadphonehome could be playing with us, but that's no confirmed yet, and there will be others as well. anyone up for recording/rehearsal friday? friday evening seems good for ellie and blake to rehearse. steve, do you want to do some recording in the afternoon then stay for a rehearsal?
